How to Dispose of a Mattress in Calgary
Calgary won't take a mattress at the curb. Most Calgary landfills now require mattresses to be shrink-wrapped before drop-off. Here are your options.
Your options.
Drop it at a landfill yourself
Shepard Landfill (NE Calgary) accepts mattresses for ~$25 each. They must be wrapped in plastic — bring shrink wrap or a mattress bag.
Donate (if in good shape)
Most charities won't take mattresses due to bedbug risks. Salvation Army occasionally takes nearly-new mattresses with original tags. Call first.
Have us take it
We charge $89 for a single mattress — pickup, wrapping, and disposal at a recycling facility where over 80% gets diverted from landfill.
